Role
As a Product Engineer at Octogen, you'll drive the user experience of Cosimo end-to-end—crafting beautiful, high-performance interfaces while also shaping the product itself. You won't just implement designs: you'll identify opportunities, propose solutions, and bring new product features to life that push the boundaries of AI-powered commerce.
You'll collaborate directly with our product and design teams to ship features and backend capabilities that have an immediate impact on how people shop. This role is ideal for someone who loves front-end craftsmanship and also wants ownership of feature definition, product direction, user impact, and the opportunity to contribute full stack.
Responsibilities
- Build responsive, accessible, and highly polished interfaces using modern frameworks (React, Next.js, etc.)
- Own end-to-end feature development—from identifying product opportunities to defining requirements to implementing the final UI
- Create intuitive, delightful experiences for search, discovery, browsing, and checkout
- Optimize front-end performance and ensure smooth interactions across devices
- Work closely with design to implement pixel-perfect, detail-driven UI components
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and shape product and technical direction
Qualifications
- Strong experience building production-quality applications with React, Next.js, or similar frameworks
- Deep understanding of performance, accessibility, and responsive design
- Ability to translate rough concepts into polished, shipped features
- Comfortable collaborating closely with design and working from high-fidelity mocks
- Product-minded: able to make thoughtful decisions about UX tradeoffs and contribute to feature definition
- Experience integrating with backend APIs and influencing interface design
- High ownership and comfort in a fast-moving startup environment
- Openness to using AI coding assistants to move faster and increase output
